BEAUTY AND DESIGN FOR EVERYDAY LIVING

The new business unit UPM Living offers high quality wood-based products for home decoration purposes and building materials both for consumers and industrial customers under the segments Home, Garden and House.  

UPM Living’s slogan is Beauty and Design for Everyday Living. The new business unit aims for UPM Living products to be the first choice for interior decorators and constructors who want top quality interior decoration solutions made of wood, a pergola for a garden or a beautiful façade for a house. The product range is constantly being expanded. At the moment, it includes wood-based interior décor panels for walls and ceilings, flooring products, mouldings and beams as well as façade and gluelam panels.

UPM Living has developed, among other innovations, new pre-treated products enabling consumers and builders to obtain rapid and immaculate results. The products feature new colour combinations and various coatings such as pearlescent which, when combined with brushed, planed and fine-sawn surfaces, give wood an exciting look. These have been developed in cooperation with Tikkurila, a Finnish paint and coating manufacturing company.

Investment in design

Beauty, pioneering and sustainable development are important keywords for UPM Living.
The new products are a step away from the conventional engineer’s way of looking at wood. In fact, particular effort has been put into design by setting up a special UPM Living Design Pool, which includes architects Harri Helorinne and Jarkko Kallio from the Design Agency Helorinne & Kallio, architects Anu Puustinen and Ville Hara from Avanto Architects Ltd and industrial designer Jaana Karell. These five designers represent expertise in various fields and share a solid knowledge of wood materials.
