FOREST OWNER’S BEST PARTNER
UPM Forest in Finland intends to awaken slumbering forest owners to actively manage their forest property. This can be done even sitting on the couch at a home, as UPM’s comprehensive forestry services can also be accessed online.
UPM wants to be the best partner for forest owners by offering a comprehensive service, from wood trading to forestry and the management of forest wealth. The aim is to double the turnover of forest services.
Forest services include all management and measures from forest planning to warranty seedlings and everything in between, not forgetting nature management plans.
Jointly owned forest is trouble-free ownership
In Finland, about 60% of forest land is held by private forest owners. Over the years, the size of properties has decreased and is continuing to decrease, usually as a result of estate distribution.
UPM’s forest services are offering forest owners the chance to join a jointly owned forest, thus becoming part of a larger entity. In this way, forest properties will remain undivided, for example, in generation transfers or estate distribution.
UPM has established four jointly owned forests around Finland, and the company will transfer a total of 2,000 hectares for a seedling forest.
Forest à la carte
In the past, forest owners usually lived on their forest property, but now a third of owners live elsewhere. It is these city-dwelling forest owners, especially, that are potential future clients of UPM’s forest services.Forest owners who live in cities have very different needs, but UPM provides them with exactly the kind of forest they want. The company does not solely represent intensive forestry; rather it also possesses know-how in carrying out nature management plans.
